Ubisoft has announced today that the company is planning in releasing a full story-arc box set for the Assassins Creed empire of fans out there. There will be over one hundred hours of content available in the set, including every DLC released for the games. So this means you get that plus all the following games:
Assassins Creed 2
Assassins Creed: Brotherhood
Assassins Creed: Revelations
Assassins Creed 3
That’s five, full-length games, the DLC and as bonuses it comes packaged as a steelbook and has five lithographs tucked into the box. No other content has been announced with the set yet, but Ubisoft is making an official announcement about the set later this week. No prices, platforms or locations released as yet- but I’m sure we will know soon enough.
I for one, was going to buy AC3 this week, but after seeing this news and not being a holder of the other games- I may wait out to see how much this package is going to be. Should be well worth the money.
Are you a fan of first person shooters? If you’re one of the many Batman fans out there, but you’re a little bored with Arkham Asylum or Lego Batman 2- there is another game out there for you to play. Released by Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment, developed by Monolith Studios and previously released for PC, XBox and Playstation 3 in February 2012; players battle for control of an unhinged Gotham City overrun by impostors inspired by the DC characters Batman and The Joker.
As from today, Gotham City Impostors is available to play for free on Steam. It is available to download from the client for no extra cost and is Steamworks enabled. For those of you that download it via Steam, you’ll have access to the original game as well as all the DLC packs which include new maps, weapons and more.
The maps in game include the Ace Chemical Plant, Amusement Mile, Arkham Asylum, Crime Alley, The Docks, East End and Gotham Power. Also, you can choose from several gameplay modes; Team Deathmatch, Fumigation, Bounty Hunter or Psych Warfare. From there, you can choose to engage either in all-out combat or the Challenges Mode, a single-player mode that allows players to safely explore the different maps and practice using different weapons and gadgets.

In addition to the new map, there a few new features for Arcade Mode. In Score Attack: Explosive Rounds, Lone Wolf AI (much more aggressive enemies) and a Headshots Only mode were added. There is also a new Noir Mode in Arcade that gives it that classic signature black & white style of film noir.
Frozenbyte, the geniuses behind Trine and Trine 2, have announced that the Goblin Menace DLC for it’s puzzle platformer will be coming out this Autumn. The new DLC will introduce six new stages, new skills and will be available in both the core game and in DLC format.
The Goblin Menace DLC has only been announced for Steam and the upcoming Wii U’s exclusive Trine 2: Directors Cut - which will include the add-on from the start. Details regarding any additional consoles/platforms on a price and release date have not been announced yet, but has been said that they will be revealed shortly.
“Trine 2: Goblin Menace is an expansion that we wanted to cultivate with a lot of time, effort and love,” said Frozenbyte CEO, Lauri Hyvärinen. “We feel this expansion is our best work to date.”
To see this new DLC in action, check out the trailer below. I think it’s pretty amazing.
In this episode, Rhonda and I interview Mark and John about some not so savvy moves some of our favorite game publishers are making. Hear our critique of forced online play, DLC, and hardware issues in this vibrant discussion. Rhonda and I talk about the kickstarter console project that has everyone abuzz and over $8.5 million in start-up funds, Ouya. We also share your insights on this discussion from our Twitter and Facebook question: What is having the most negative impact on the gaming industry?
Since I don’t like having episodes that focus entirely on the negative, I am sharing some of the independent games we discuss during the show and have mentioned in previous episodes. One of my favorites is Dungeon Defenders from Trendy Entertainment. Also noteworthy is Terraria. But my all time favorite Xbox game is I MAED A GAM3 with ZOMB1ES!!!1 and if you have a dollar, I assure you hours of fun with your friends (and a great song to boot!) Check it out. It’s produced by Ska Studios and you can bet I am going to check out their other offerings.
As always, we’d love to hear what you think about these issues. Leave a comment here or Drop us a Tweet @game_on_girl.

God… Paradox Interactive must really like you or something.
An all-new DLC pack called Magicka WOOT has been released, bringing new PvP (personally I’m excited for the Pool of Undeniable Moisture event) and Challenge maps while sporting an Olympic theme (amazingly well timed right?) Why did I get all defensive and bring up the fact that the fine guys at Paradox have like, a totally major crush on you? Cause it’s free! Free DLC!
So what exactly is in this thing? Well here’s a handy list that I definitely came up with myself:
* 4 new PvP maps
* 3 new Challenge maps
* 10 new Sporting Goods items, including dumbbells, water bottles, and the Elevennis Racket
* New “Athletic Techniques” magick, including Performance Enchantment and the Wave
So go download this stuff. It’s the Olympic season, get in the spirit.
Good and bad news for future of Street Fighter X Tekken, which has become less and less optimistic as of late.
Capcom announced that they would be bumping the release date of the 12 new downloaded characters for the game to July 31. New fighters like Sakura, Blanka, Guy, Alisa, Bryan, and Jack-X will join the cast in the form of DLC characters. That’s the good news.
Bad, head-scratching news? In a statement by Tomoyaki Ayano, SFxT producer, it was announced that, “Unfortunately for Xbox 360 users, Mega Man and Pac-Man are exclusive to the PS3 version of the game”
When confronted with the fact that Mega Man and Pac-Man have been found on the Xbox 360 disc, Ayano bluntly said that, “Every game has data on it that is unused. In this case, Street Fighter X Tekken for the Xbox 360 did have the Mega Man and Pac-Man data on it. But, we never intended to release these characters on the 360. They are PS3 exclusives and that was our intention from the very beginning. The are not going to be timed exclusives either, they’re PS3 exclusives.”
So there you go. You’ll never be able to shoot people as an over-weight Mega Man if you’ve been playing this game on Xbox 360.
Another bizarre PR misstep by Capcom. Are these people getting paid to piss people off?
Paradox Interactive and Arrowhead Game Studios along with the Wizards of Magicka have sent out an apology letter for their inability to attend Comic-Con International this year in San Diego. The wizards apparently found themselves “unexpectedly tied up” after a impromptu run-in with a few colleagues from the Other Side of the Coin.
The Other Side of the Coin is a new DLC for Arrowheads hit game, Magicka. It allows players to join the forces of evil and play as Alucart the Vampire and his necromancer henchmen.
The Other Side of the Coin is available now anywhere Magicka is available which includes Steam and GamersGate.
There’s been a lot of news coming out of Mojang today and a lot of players are going to love this one. Your going to be able to expect a collection of 40 different character skins for the Xbox next week along with the 1.7.3 update to Minecraft. This will allow players to customize their look instead of just the Steve skin that everybody is walking around in.
Some of the skins are based off of other video games too. You can expect to see some skins as a creeper, King and even a Covenant Grunt from the Halo series. Your probably not interested to hear that though and are really wondering, “is it free”?
Sadly, it won’t be free and your going to have to dish out a few Microsoft points for the skin pack.
Play XBLA also released a FAQ:
Q: Will the same two people in a game be able to have the same skins? For example what if I join my friend’s world as Tennis Steve and he has Tennis Steve on too?
A: Yes, we won’t change your skin choice just because someone else has the same one.
Q: Are there even more skins coming in the future?
A: Yes, but we’re not saying which at this time. We’re not even telling you all 40 skins in this pack at this time!
You can read more on the PlayXBLA website, there’s even some skins you can preview!
