Local gamer confused by ‘midnight lunch event’

A local gamer made the late-night trek to his area GameStop in anticipation of Tuesday’s Battlefield 3 launch only to be served a half-sandwich and soda for the store’s “Midnight Lunch” event that happened to coincide with the shooter’s release date.

Dale Evans, a 23 year old gamer, was planning to purchase EA’s highly anticipated sequel when he drove the 15 minutes to the gaming retailer just an hour before launch. “I was pretty surprised when they said the store would be closed but that I had a choice between ham and cheese or roast beef,” Evans said.

Evans reportedly finished the sandwich and Coke before heading to a local Best Buy where he was able to purchase the game.
