Modern Warfare 3 single-player campaign to feature ‘four rock-solid hours of gameplay’

During yesterday’s earnings call, Activision Blizzard President Bobby Kotick announced some special details on the company’s upcoming first-person shooter, Modern Warfare 3, promising at least four hours of single-player gameplay and story.

“We know a lot of our fans enjoy the multiplayer mode in our Call of Duty titles,” Kotick said. “But we also know how important a solid core single-player mode is. That’s why I’m proud to announce that I have it on good authority that Modern Warfare 3 will feature at least four, maybe five, hours of single-player gameplay.”

Kotick went on to explain that the single-player mode would feature a detailed and intense storyline that will take the player across 1 to 2 continents and across ‘literally threes’ of battlefields. Kotick has also revealed that the game’s story mode was written by Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, the creators of the hit Cartoon Network/Adult Swim television series Robot Chicken.

“We felt that Seth and Matthew knew how to deliver quality, entertaining narratives in bite-sized chunks that will leave the players on the edge of their seat throughout the entire story.”

He would go on to explain that the game would feature campaigns ranging anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes a stretch, though mostly at about 11 and a half minutes.

“It’s what we know,” said writer Seth Green.
