SMITE Becomes Most Metal MOBA with MANOWAR Collaboration
If you’re like me you’ve played your handful of MOBAs (Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas.) You like em. You think they are pretty cool. But you want something more… You need those double bass drums. That 15 minute long guitar solo. Lyrics about riding on the back of a dragon, blowing up castles and getting all of the virgin princesses.
Thankfully, Hi-Rez Studios has heard your call, and wants to envelope you in a jagged, yet somehow warm and cuddly blanket of metal tunes while you are siegeing towers and getting seriously pissed at the guy who APPARENTLY DOESN’T HAVE EYEBALLS BECAUSE THAT’S THE THIRD TIME HE DIDN’T CALL MISSING ON BOTTOM LANE.
Sorry… um.
Hi-Rez is teaming up with the well known and respected metal band MANOWAR (pictured below, careful ladies, you might want to get a moisture absorption device for your chair.) So now, in addition to the unique third-person perspective, SMITE will have arguably one of the best MOBA soundtracks in the business.
SMITE is set to be released in Q1 2013 and is currently in a closed beta. Coming from the MOBA family of games, there are going to be a lot of similarities, but two things really set it apart: the perspective and the fact that all skills and spells must be aimed (no auto-aim!)
Check out the video below, and if you’re interested in trying the game out you can sign up for the beta here!
