IndieGameStand Officially Launches, Features Escape Goat

September 26th, 2012 by Mitchell Lockey

IndieGameStand, a new platform designed to keep things fresh by featuring a new game every 4 days has officially launched!

We covered the lead up to the site going live a couple weeks ago, and it’s great to see that everything went forward without a hitch.

The first game to be released on the new site is Escape Goat:

Created by MagicalTimeBean, the game is an 8-bit styled puzzle platformer that uses a unique “pixel-perfect” physics engine. The game has over 50 rooms to conquer in the regular campaign, as well as 50 bonus missions for all you super brave goats out there. Plus, there is a level-editor, so you can bet the community will be creating some truly crafty custom made traps.

And of course, as with all IndieGameStand featured games, you the customer gets to decide how deep into your pockets you want to dig to pay for the game. If you beat the average price you’ll get a free MP3 soundtrack, and anyone who pays a dollar or more receives a code to unlock the game on Desura. Developer MagicalTimeBean has selected the American Red Cross to receive 10% of the proceeds from this 96-hour sale.

In only two weeks, more than 12,000 gamers have registered with the service, and IndieGameStand is currently talking to 100+ developers about featuring their games. It’s an exciting concept, and is sure to bring out some of the industries best kept secrets as each new sale approaches.

The next game will be featured on September 30, so be sure to check back in a few days!
