MegaBloks World of Warcraft!
I’m sorry, but I believe the title needs an exclamation mark.
I grew up on Lego, and so is my daughter. I am very much part of a Lego family as my brother also played with it and so do his kids. The thing I always liked about it was that even if you bought the sets, you could still take them apart and use the bricks to make something completely from your imagination. And the same thing pretty much applies to MegaBloks too.
Always considered to be the red-headed stepchild of the brick-building toy world, MegaBloks seems to be no longer content to stand in the shadow of the Danish giant. For now, they have branched out to be a key merchandise player of the ever-increasing line of goodies coming out of Blizzard HQ in Irvine, CA. For all of you that never got the chance to beat Sindragosa in raid or used to play the login game of ‘how quick can I log in before that bloody dragon roars?’ – now you can literally take her apart piece by piece. And she comes with a little toy Lich King too. I sadly, never got my Kingslayer title on my Shadow Priest so I would be one of those people who wants to happily take the head off the Lich King figure and cackle maniacally.
Other sets available include Deathwing sitting on top of Stormwind and faction leaders with their respective mounts. First off, there is no Sylvanas. I am saddened. And there’s a Stormwind but no Orgrimmar playset! I personally want a full set of Ruins of Lordaeron, complete with elevator and Sylvanas in three forms (Night Elf, Banshee and current Blood Elf model). Have you guessed I’m a Sylvanas fan yet?
Supposedly, the female characters are on their way so that possibly means Jaina and Tyrande figures too.
Oh the fun stories you could make up with this stuff.
“Yes Jaina, I’ve kicked you out of your castle. I left the Lich King behind. I was resurrected by Mal’Ganis. I’m here to take your hand in marriage. Let’s take on Sylvanas and reclaim my ancestral home.”
Hahah. Dear Lord, no. H4TW!
The sets are available in both the US and the EU at all good toy retailers as well as online via MegaBloks.com and Amazon
