Capcom Releases Extra SFxT Characters Early, Takes Two From Xbox 360

July 16th, 2012 by Mitchell Lockey

Good and bad news for future of Street Fighter X Tekken, which has become less and less optimistic as of late.

Capcom announced that they would be bumping the release date of the 12 new downloaded characters for the game to July 31. New fighters like Sakura, Blanka, Guy, Alisa, Bryan, and Jack-X will join the cast in the form of DLC characters. That’s the good news.

Bad, head-scratching news? In a statement by Tomoyaki Ayano, SFxT producer, it was announced that, “Unfortunately for Xbox 360 users, Mega Man and Pac-Man are exclusive to the PS3 version of the game”

When confronted with the fact that Mega Man and Pac-Man have been found on the Xbox 360 disc, Ayano bluntly said that, “Every game has data on it that is unused. In this case, Street Fighter X Tekken for the Xbox 360 did have the Mega Man and Pac-Man data on it. But, we never intended to release these characters on the 360. They are PS3 exclusives and that was our intention from the very beginning. The are not going to be timed exclusives either, they’re PS3 exclusives.”

So there you go. You’ll never be able to shoot people as an over-weight Mega Man if you’ve been playing this game on Xbox 360.

Another bizarre PR misstep by Capcom. Are these people getting paid to piss people off?
