Blizzard seems to be getting nothing but trouble with this online only play theory. The real-money auction house being pushed back, item exploitation, in-game currency exploitation and etc. With all that said, this might not surprise you at all, but it seems that Asian Diablo 3 servers have been shut down temporarily following with reports of item duplication.
There has been an exploit within the game that allows players to duplicate items that will literally destroy the whole idea of the real-money auction house. Now Blizzard will be requiring you to use your Battle.Net Authenticator for purchasing items and adding funds to your balance starting today. Not able to afford an authenticator? Blizzard has a freely available app for you to download on your mobile device to use as an authenticator.
I’m beginning to feel like this real-money auction house isn’t worth it. The amount of hacking, exploits and technical difficulties has been crazy insane. If they even get all the issues fixed, who knows what some Chinese hacker will be able to come up with?
